After seven years writing hundreds of docs at Meta, the pattern is the same every time. **One**, TL;DR at the top. No three-line summary, no one reads to the part that matters. **Two**, state what you want from the reader. Information without ask is information ignored. **Three**, narrative beats lists. Data and charts are fine, but the order should track what the reader needs to know next, not what you happen to have. **Four**, cut to half. Halving the length doubles the readership. If it isn't load-bearing, delete it.
