In Silicon Valley politics often beats raw competence — *who you work with and how* is what manufactures the result. **Two**: they speak up. The Korean default of working silently gets you buried. You speak in the moments that matter, and you accept being disliked as the price of being seen. **Three**: they own the hard moment. People who become leaders don't dodge problems. **Whoever takes responsibility at the worst moment becomes the leader.** The takeaway: don't aim to be the *most competent* person on the team. Aim to be the *most wanted-on-the-team*.
