At Meta, the higher your level, the less you code. An E6 historically caps somewhere under 100 PRs *per year*. I shipped 100 in one month. I happen to like coding, but the reason this works is AI — I can ship a full month of code while doing a full day of meetings. **A new era is opening.** Juniors should be alert, sure. Seniors and staff engineers should be more alert. The bar shifted: you have to be able to do everything yourself.
